The attractive young woman attending the book presentation is called Aphrodite and is a researcher – doctor. The gentleman at her side is named Hermes and is a lawyer and aspiring author.
“The content of the novel is hardly realistic,” says Aphrodite.
“Do we know each other?” asks Hermes.
They do not know each other, but they will soon meet during “chance” meetings in a well-known café in the city.
Mercury is married and his plans do not include a love affair with the young doctor. It is enough for him to feel her close to him, to breathe her perfume and feel her admiration. Venus does not desire a love affair with him either. Mercury is the bridge that will lead her to his brother, Adonis, a famous professor, with pioneering medical research. Her plan succeeds and soon Aphrodite becomes a close collaborator in his secret research.
The plot gets complicated when Aphrodite and Adonis fall in love. A fatal relationship that tears two families apart, brings Aphrodite to face justice and leaves Adonis at the mercy of his angry rival, Ares.
Intrigues, underground enmities and repressed hatreds lead to an unexpected end, as in the ancient myth of “Adonis and Aphrodite”.
