School Director and Parents and Guardians Association

The purpose of this study is to explore, on the basis of the relevant literature, a key issue concerning schools and, more specifically, the relationships of interaction, interdependence and cooperation between the Head of School and the PTA and the extent to which they influence and define the school organisation. First, the school as an organization and open system is presented in the context of the modern view of management, as well as the concept of organization and management of education. Next, the characteristic features, role and importance of the components under investigation, the School Unit, the Principal and the PTA, are listed, the relationship and cooperation between them is explored and presented based on models and research findings, in order to assess its impact on the effectiveness of the work and goals of the learning organization.
