Comprehension and production of spoken language: Teaching and assessment with applications

The study presents the characteristics of oral discourse, its place in the educational process, the teaching methods and the ways of its evaluation. In particular, it develops the reflection on the place of oral language in the language course, the methods of its teaching approach, as well as the assessment of students’ performance by using defined formative assessment typologies (rubrics). The ultimate aim of the book remains to highlight the importance of oral language as an equal to written language and its contribution to the development of the skill of producing written language at school. In this sense, the book is a trigger for further research in the field, as well as an important aid for the teacher when planning language lessons.
