The main purpose of the present study is to approach the philosophy of education in the light of the ontological question. That is, to interpret the way in which the threefold – consciousness, conductive, educational – constitution of man allows him to play the role of the ultimate questioner. A role which marks the emergence of the most courageous yet weakest being. The one who, according to Nietzsche: ‘dared, innovated, defied and challenged his fate more than all the other animals put together’. And in our attempt to elucidate this fate we have attempted to explore the way in which man’s learning components become indicative of his existence. In this context, we first turned to a thorough analysis of pedagogical concepts in order to demonstrate the indivisible and unstable character of education, the ontological importance of dispositions and the relationship between education and socialization. Finally, we attempted to approach education as a kind of skillful dismantling of our secular openness.
