The publication of the photo album marks forty-seven years of the Association of Pontian Pontians of Nuremberg. Its completion required dozens of hours of voluntary cooperation of the creators, most of them in the difficult covid. From the selection of props and period costumes to the long hours of photography and editing, young and old “performers” in front of and behind the camera of Konstantinos Batzios participated in a fascinating consultation. Narrated by the faces and the synchronicity of the SNP, the narrative of the publication interprets the fascination that the demotic traditions of the Roms of Anatolia exert on the younger generations of expatriate Hellenism. The album, with its visual modernity, occupies the position of an impressionist observer. Free from the monolithic fixation on the perspective of popular tradition, it is in fact a product of consistency in the pragmatism of the Association of Pontians of Nuremberg.
