Description
Nikolaos Velimirovic was the greatest ecclesiastical personality of the Serbian Orthodox Church of the 20th century. He was elected Bishop of Zitsa and later of Ohrid. He authored more than 20 volumes of theological works, which have been published and translated into several languages. St. Justin Popovich described him as the greatest Serb after St. Sava. Nikolaos Velimirovic was imprisoned together with Serbian Patriarch Gabriel Dozic in the Dachau concentration camp. After his release, he went to America, where he died under mysterious circumstances. The Serbian Orthodox Church placed him in the canon of the Orthodox Church.
