This book is a comprehensive guide to special education physical education for all physical education teachers interested in delving into the concept of adapted exercise for people with disabilities and special educational needs. In the twenty chapters of the book, all representative disability situations and the prerequisites for understanding and applying the discipline of special physical education for the benefit of practitioners with disabilities and special educational needs of all ages and in all exercise settings (in education, adapted sports, sport for all programs, gyms/clubs/associations for people with disabilities, etc.) are discussed in detail and up-to-date literature.
Each chapter of the book mentions specific disabilities and the corresponding exercise adaptations required, so that the physical education teacher through knowledge becomes a complete professional who is able to successfully train 100% of the trainees (with and without disabilities) that he/she undertakes each time. Most of all, the book is written in a purely practical way in order to facilitate the physical education teacher in his or her daily work, containing and analyzing original material such as the Individualized Education Program (IEP), integration strategies and chapters on therapeutic swimming, exercise in people with mental illness and sports psychology in people with disabilities.
